Theorycraft 1: Loyal Knights of the Broken Sword

Hey there internet, guess who is still alive!

I haven't got any tabletop gaming in a long time, so to build up intrest for myself and my friends I have been throwing together various army lists.  I thought it might be cool to share them on the 'net, so you get to see them too along with some of my thought process!

We'll start with something simple!  You may remember the Knights of the Broken Sword who were allied to my Imperial Guard in the last tournament I went to.  I'm kinda split between running them as Chaos Marines and Dark Angels, as the idea is that the leader of the force is one of the Fallen.

Anyway, here's the list I put together for the loyalist version.

KotBS loyalist configuration: 1498points
Belial                                                                                                                                     190
10 tactical marines with melta gun, lascannon, power sword                                                    185
10 tactical marines with melta gun, lascannon, power sword                                                    185
10 Deathwing terminators with 3 storm shield/hammer, 2 chainfists, 2 assault cannons,
                                         2 double lightning claws                                                                 500
5 company veterans with melta gun, combi melta, combi flamer,
Power sword and melta bomb on sergeant                                     140
-Drop pod                                                                                                                               35
Ravenwing Dark Talon                                                                                                           160

Aegis defence line with quad gun                                                                                            100

The plan here is to get some insane pressure on my opponent turn one with the 11 scoring terminators and the company veterans.  Both of these units can deep strike very safely and can do some huge damage.  The tactical marines can combat squad if I need people to sit back on objectives or else just rush up to support the rest of my army.  I had to take the Ravenwing plane for its cool guns, so we'll see if it can be useful.

This list would be around $100 more than the Chaos Marine version, but I think it is more well rounded and possibly more fun to play with.  I'll be posting the alternative list on Saturday, but until then feel free to leave your comments on this one!
